my 07 impala is down..need help ASAP please!
 

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and hope to stick around..i have a 07 chevy impala ls..the steering wheel is real hard to turn..i'm guessing its the power steering..this happened after i did some hard turns to avoid an accident.
Any help will be greatfully appreciated.

was wondering if disconnecting the battry would work,,i know sometimes i jut needs to be reset..could this be the solution?

I think you may have fried your power steering unit.
I say this because (i have an 03 trailblazer).... on a TB forum, several members have gone out and done donuts in the snow......
and as a result. their power steering fails.........it could be the turning of the wheel all the way to the ends and holding?
but Ive seen that with multiple guys in winter and their donuts.
in your case check to make sure you have fluid.
check to make sure your serpentine belt hasnt snapped.
and ive heard of some 06/07 Impala power steering hoses bursting from cold weather.

disconnecting battery wont help- as this is not an electrical power steering.
this is mechanical and belt driven

Take it to the dealer, it should be under warranty

just wanted to thank everyone..brought it to the dealer and its getting fixed..rbarrios..yeah i know. I owned a 02 trailblazer..then a 07 tbss..i totalled it so now i got the impala.
but i use to do donuts..and never had any problems..i think some of the member in that forum (gayvoy w/ Hitler) just take to an extreme. I even posted a video on gayvoy of me doing donuts and drive off..this was w/ my 02 and she had 90k miles
