Obstinate Door Locks

I am beginning to think the door locks on my 2014 Impala 2LTZ are possessed. This started about 2 weeks ago I was found the driver's door unlocked. Initially I thought me or my wife simply forgot to lock our Impala. Then late last week I finished using it and tried to lock it in the driveway. This time with the driver's door open I hit the lock button and closed the door. I have the delay lock setup and since I've seen the car unlocked before, I waited to watch it lock. After the delay timed out, I watched the plunger on the drivers door go down about an 1/8" then pop fully back up. OK, so it didn't lock. I then opened up the door and manually pushed the plunger down and closed the door. To my surprise the plunger immediately popped up when the door closed. Hitting the door lock button on the door handle, caused the door lock plunger to go down and back up everytime I hit the button.
The car was acting just as if I had the keys in the car. They were not in the car at all. This morning at the supermarket my wife hit the lock button but never waited or check to see that it locked. When we got back after shopping, she found the drivers door unlocked BUT when she opened the drivers door, the internal alarm started to chip the horn and flash the lights indicating an intrusion detection.

I tried to look and see if I could find something on this, but I came up empty and more confused that anything else. Any ideas?

I got the Impala back form the dealer the other day. I dropped it off on Thursday eve just before closing and I got it back on Tuesday. They replace the latch/lock/actuator assembly. I was told this was the first one they ever did. So far, so good...
