1994 K5 ABS question

So the ABS, 4wal, hasn't been working for quite sometime. Watched a bunch of videos on deleting the ABS but before that trying a few more things. Here's the question : Hubs with internal speed sensors replaced the original equipment years ago. Not sure when the ABS stopped working properly but i did replace the giant ABS module last year and it is getting power.

Can hubs with the built in speed sensors work for this year Blazer or could that be my problem and i need to return to OEM equipment? I haven't found a definitive answer online but the consensus says no. Has anyone had experiences with newer hubs one way or the other that work? Or any advice would be helpful.

** also figured out why my ABS light isn't even on... someone took it out. I'm guessing in the 3 years before our family bought it (we got it in '97)

Okay i'm not seeing an "edit post" button so i'll just do this. ABS light installed, comes on when starting the car then goes off like nothing is wrong. The ABS module has power. Could this be an actual brake issue (calipers etc) or the hub isn't working as intended?

What's it doing when you say not working? In my 93 after start up, once going forward you could hear the abs motor cycling - is that happening?

It just doesn't want to stop like ABS should... like if someone on the highway slammed their brakes you'd have to avoid using the emergency lane or grass to avoid crashing. In the city isn't bad bc you don't gain that kinda speed. I use to pull trailers or a boat with this years ago and no problem stopping. I know the ABS module is getting power but i have never heard it cycle. Is it pretty loud?

So using my 93 Sub to compare - when you start up and put it in drive and start to go, I hear the ABS motor run - like a loud buzz/hum for approx 5 sec - very obvious. Happens at about 5mph. When you slam on the brakes you should also hear it and feel obvious pulsations in the brake pedal. Mine has not worked for years so brakes feel/work like a standard non-ABS vehicle.

*update So I've never heard the ABS make any noise I just know it has power. We took a look at the back brakes and made the slightest adjustment but I honestly don't think that did anything. Not having the GM tech 1a scan tool or whatever i it is I was never able to make sure the new module even worked.... I tried slamming on the brakes numerous times but nothing. BUT... it was just on the street. The other day took it down some gravel and dusty roads, pumped and slammed it and wouldn't you know it the module activated. Did it about 20 more times and the spongy pedal disappeared and ABS works. Not sure if it just needed to get the air out of the system or actually activate to clear out whatever wasn't working but I'll take the small win.
