Blazer steering column help
Hello All,
I just recently acquired a 1973 Jimmy, the rig came from a vineyard where the farm hands lost the keys to the ignition so they installed a push botton start with a toggle switch they cut the little metal rod that goes to the on column ignition switch and lots of wires. I went to the wrecking yard and got a column with a key and tilt on it and I want to install it. Unfortunately the farm hands didn't really leave me a wiring diagram to use to uninstall the toggle and push botton start. I was wondering if there were any wiring gurus that could help me. Below I have some pictures of the toggle and push botton. <a href="http://s903.beta.photobucket.com/user/JonEBotts/media/pbpower.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac234/JonEBotts/pbpower.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo pbpower.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s903.beta.photobucket.com/user/JonEBotts/media/toggleswitchtocolumnharness.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac234/JonEBotts/toggleswitchtocolumnharness.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo toggleswitchtocolumnharness.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s903.beta.photobucket.com/user/JonEBotts/media/togglewire2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac234/JonEBotts/togglewire2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo togglewire2.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s903.beta.photobucket.com/user/JonEBotts/media/greyandblackcutwires.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac234/JonEBotts/greyandblackcutwires.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo greyandblackcutwires.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s903.beta.photobucket.com/user/JonEBotts/media/3miscwiresforcoulm.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac234/JonEBotts/3miscwiresforcoulm.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 3miscwiresforcoulm.jpg"/></a> Ive looked at general wiring diagrams for this rig but i cant decipher this. Plus gm says there is supposed to be a brown wire for accessories? I cant find it. Im thinking this is an aftermarket harness... Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
