has anybody installed or know how hard it would be to install a floor shifter? I am new to the whole 4x4 scene i used to drive little imports.. the column shifter is a little wierd and i think it would be handy to install a floor shifter.

if anybody has any links or could walk me through it, i would appreciate it. (i was going to use the tci streetfighter)

i have an 86 k5 4x4 350 im guessing its the 700r4 trans

Its super easy to put in a floor shifter, I used the B&M z-gate shifter for my 1988 k5 (but I custom made a new shifter handle) The B&M shifter are very easy to install because they dont use any linkages, all the shifting is done with a cable. It took me like an hour to mount it all and get it adjusted right. Whatever shifter you get make sure it has a reverse lock out. Heres a pic of my floor shifter:

If you wanna see how its hooked up at the transmission let me know and I can go take a pic of it.
