While this model ended its run, it is not uncommon to see them on the road or off, years after production end.

Question my doh! moment with my battery.

Ok Here's the deal,i own a 82' k5 blazer originally had a 6.2 diesel but what swapped out for a 350 sbc with a 350 turbo tranny.I was putting in a battery and accidently put the wires on backwards i heard a pop noise come from the firewall and sparks from where all the power supply lines come from.. After that i couldn't get it to crank over @ all.i changed the ign. switch and tested the starter, but still no avail.i checked all the fuses under the dash and there still good.my headlights work but not my aftermarket cd player.I haven't checked anything else.

2nd question is:How do i find the top dead center on a sbc 350 so i can find the timing.thanks for any help i can receive before hand.

up near the battery, on the positive cable, are there any fusible links? not fuses, but round, black things inline with the power wires. you can test these with an ohmeter, or voltmeter to see if power is getting thru.

also, check the wires, and fusible links if there are, on the firewall. unless someone took it off, there should be a small, 2 terminal junction block close to the center of firewall.
