1 step forward 2 steps back..
Hello everyone!
Yesterday my cuz brought his girls 2001 chevy mailbu ls (3.1l v6) over so I could change the thermostat for them. I completed it with much frustration as I am a honda owner lol. I was piecing the car back together and made a connection between the exhaust crossover pipe and the car battery (of which I didn't disconnect) with the heat shield, thus electrically welding a hole in the pipe the size of a lead pencil tip. Now the muffler is leaking fluid and puttering, the bonnet emits a smell to that of fireworks (most likely from the exhaust escaping from the hole I unintentionally made) Can anyone explain to me how I remove the exhaust crossover pipe? I have a haynes manual, but it does not thoroughly explain this process... This lost soul just needs some enlightenment. |
