1997 Malibu starting issues
 

I have a starting issue w/this car. Sometimes the car flat out won't start and the theft system light will come on and blink for about ten minutes and then it shuts off and I can usually get the car to start. Regardless, the car always starts rough and it does not matter what key I use it is the same. I have been told that the ignition switch is going bad and can't always read the chip correctly that is built into the key. Even when I am driving down the road the theft system light will come on, and the car will still run fine. I have replaced the fuel regulator and spark plugs and wires and the problem still persists. Who agree's that this is a ignition switch problem?

I am having the start problem with my 03 malibu. I am doing research on the internet now about this problem.

How did you finally solve the problem? Can you share with us?
