RE: Brakes problem.

This may be out in left field, but this episode of soft pedal almost bought a new car for the people in front of me when trying to stop.
I removed the front pads on my C10 '82, used clamp to push cylinder back, installed pads, master cylinder level okay, but saw no need to bleed.
Most all the time, this truck only goes 10 miles, not more than 20 minutes, is parked and cools off for several hours.
On a really hot day, the RF brake locked up, was seriously hot, soft pedal, left to cool 3-4 hours, turned freely, firm pedal. Drove 5 miles, did it again. Bled the RF caliper, problem solved?
Scenario repeats later on LF caliper. Bled caliper. In retrospect, I guessed the 'proportioning valve' was the culprit, but after the second bleeding, no ap[parent braking problem. No more soft pedal. this may not apply to your situation, but it may jog someone into providing a solution.

May also be a good time to flush the old brake fluid for new fluid.
