buying a 1999 malibu for the wife

first of all, hello everyone! I have a question on the 1999 malibu, and the 2000 impala. My wife is buying a 1999 malibu with 169,000km which seems like a great deal for 800$, the tires are all like new, with a set of snow tires as well. My wifes parents have a 2000 impala that has about 300,000km on it, and its on its death bed. the malibu my wife wants need some work done to it, im a mechanic and have no problems doing it, but I want to know if ANY of the Impala parts are interchangable with the malibu, ie. windshield wiper motor, starter, sensors, switches, etc?

I know there will be too many to list, but I at least want to know if some parts will work. I could likely buy the impala for 100$ which would save on the wiper motor right there.

let me know please. thanks!

the fastest way would be to look at the parts side by side to see if not buy the imp. sell it for scrap and use that money to buy the parts for the malibu. hope that helps.

parts interchangability

well that is a loaded question, the answer will be just as loaded :eek: I own and run GM vehicles only due to the fact that so many parts are interchangible, I would put a $20 on the fact that wiper motors are the same, with different arms bolted on, brake parts should interchange, if the same motor=lotsa parts, trans proly the same...on and on it "could" go just my 3 cents worth
