Malibu 2.4 Liter Problems
 

My son has a 98 Malibu with a 2.4 liter 4cylinder in it. Was running great until a few days ago when it started missing and puffing white smoke out the exhaust. Also low on anti-freeze, so i assume it is a head gasket. I also understand this is a common issue with the 2.4's. I have been pricing parts for the repair and they are very expensive. I have also heard that once this happens, it is a matter of time before it happens again. Does anyone know how this can be avoided in the future or if it is true that it will happen again soon?
