Oil Pressure ?

I have a 2000 Malibu LS with the 3.1 eng Twice in the past week when coming down a steep hill the oil pressure lt flickered on. Level is Ok, I run synthetic oil and have no leaks Any thoughts?

I think you should be fine cause if your coming down a steep hill you oil is going to go to one side of the motor that could trip a sensor i mean if you level is good its not like your motor is capped of with oil if you what i mean

Yeah Tommy,
I think its just that hill on my way to work. Im going to see about an oil pressure gauge any way. Guess im a glutton for punishment!! Well my struts came from r_ckAuto so I put the rears in this afternoon. What a great differance they made in my ride.

Thats good to hear.

Check the level too. Might be a bit low and tripped the sensor.

Is the car equipped with a oil level sensor (you will be able to see this on the bottem of the oil pan)? All vehicles have an oil pressure switch. Do not just assume and throw parts at the car. Take it to advanced auto or pepboys. They will run a diagnostics test for free. Then when you get a code let me know and I'll help you from there.
