Tire sizes

I have a 2006 Chevy Malibu LT. As you may or may not know, it comes stock with 215/60/16 wheels. I am trying to put bigger size tires and rims on the car. I just came from Just Tires and they told me that I could go all the way up to 20" and all I would have to add are spacers. I don't want to go up that high, I was looking for maybe 18 or 19".

The thing i was mainly looking for is the width. I like how some tires "poke out", it gives the car a better look to me personally. My question was will a 225 width be wide enough? If so, can i go up to 235 or even 255 without a problem?

I would recommend using a 235/40 18 or a 245 series tire. Hop on to www.tirerack.com to look up what sizes they have available for your year.
