1972 Chevelle?Malibu SS identification

Looking for info on the positive identification of the car. I've seen tribute cars etc, but what "can't" be altered or badged

Trying to understand your question, look at the cowl tag, and vin. Cowl tag will tell you colors ect. it had original, vin will provide you where it was built, and other data.

SS identification

I found out 2 additional items that have to be present to be a true 72 SS car. The rear control arms are boxed and there is a SS steering box installed. Still researching the steering box. Any info on it would be greatly appreciated. By the way, the serial # and cowl tag don't provide proof of SS status.

Hi, I suggest joining (free) Chevelle Tech, and ask your questions, they seem very knowledgable, they would know.

That will tell you the color code(s), you can at least get an idea if those are the color scheme.
