Big issue, hoping for it to be a little problem

Hey yall im new here. I have a 91 1500 with a 350 sb. Bought it for $500 from my neighbor. He was driving it last weekend and heard grinding metal coming from the tranny while in motion. The motor stalled, he got it started again with a jump after rocking the truck a few times. Died again and will not fire back up. We are both thinking that the tranny is shot which I have a spare transmission and tc for it. At this time it wont even turn over and makes a loud buzzing sound. Im thinking that for one the tc is jammed against the flex plat preventing the motor from turning. I am hoping that the tranny, tc and flex plate swap will solve this problem. Someone please let me know if im thinking right.

Doesn't sound like too bad of an idea.

My other guess would be - Does the tranny shifter appear to be selecting gears properly?

Well let us know how it turns out. good luck!
