Guidance required: First Chevy Purchase
 

Hi,

Hoping everyone is enjoying the Holidays.

I am planning to purchase my first Chevy. I do see some deals posted on dealers' websites. High-level goal is to keep the monthly payment as low as possible without paying too much of down payment. Hence considering 2023 as well. Will appreciate guidance on how to go about the purchase.

Timeline: Before New Year
Location: Union, New Jersey
Vehicle: 2023/2024 Chevy Equinox / Blazer
Payment: Lease

Few questions I have:
1. This will be primarily for my fiancé. Do you recommend Equinox or Blazer?
2. Do dealerships offer more discounts on top of what's advertised on the websites?
3. Any recommendations on the dealership which offer good customer care services and big discounts?

Welcome from Florida. You can always get more from the dealership than they offer at first. It depends on the salesman you get. Some are more honest than others. Don't believe everything they tell you and don't let them work you. You have to work them. They are not your friend. They are trying to make money for themselves. Don't seem too eager and be ready to get up and walk out. They won't let you. If you want low payments with a low down payment than you will have to make the loan for a longer period of time which will cost you more in the long run.
