I´m new too
Hello together,
I`m Oliver,I`m 53, live as a German in Germany in Baden Württemberg. So my english isn´t so good as it should be.
Last year a dram came true...ok I made it happen because i bought it. I bought a 97 c1500 ok that was not the dream, but The car that dame close to it, I bougth the car in Germany because of technical Inspections taxes and so on, a Us car in Germany is kind of special. This Car was in a good condition, almost no rust and just 90000miles. No rust means compared to the trucks I looked at while my search to find one .
Since I got it I did some work on it, I coated the platform with a kind of bedliner, I derusted the frame so good as I could paintet it with owatrol and Chassis paint. new brakes in the front, new wheel bearings, new ABS sensors, new watercooler, new Alternator, cavity protection, new balljoints and so on... the truck has to last a while.
I didn`t do it all at the same time it took me over a year to get this all done, I have ohter Things to do too.
My profession is I`m a IT supporter but bevor that I was a mechanic and to work on cars is one of my hobbies. I think it´s a boy thing.. :-)
In germany we have Us car communities too and there are some guys who are real specialists but there are not so many of them.
The Skoda is the car of my wife, she don`t want to drive the truck because it`s to big, the Audi is my heritage, it`s the old Car from my deceased father.
