Question RPMs dropping with more throttle on Chevy Small Block

I have a small block Chevy 350. When attempting to accelerate, the rpms drop. The engine seems to not want to exceed 3000 rpms. I've cleaned the carburetor and attempted to adjust ignition but these haven't helped. Any thoughts as to where I should begin?

Is it a Rochester? Is the float set on the carb? Might be too low, and starving for gas.

Hi there. Thanks for your quick response. It's an Edelbrock. I will check the float this weekend. Another thing I noticed, 3 out of 4 pipes on the exhaust manifold on one side of the engine are not as hot as the 4 on the other side. Is this normal?
I'm hoping to fix this myself as it's mounted on an airboat making it difficult if not impossible to take it to a mechanic.

Check the float drop first.
