I bought 2002 Tahoe on 2010 was installed with after market security alarm I used that for long time until both fob keys was bad so I decided to removed after market system and I start using original fob keys work okay but my Question is if I unlock the door with the key and open the door horn doesn't go off and the vehicle start normal is that normal ? my understanding is if we don't use fob key to unlock the door vehicle should not start and horn should go off please advice thank you and yes yellow security light working blinking and if i unlock from inside and I open the door horn goes off

In my opinion, your Chevy Tahoe should start if you're using the right key, even if you're not unlocking it with the key fob. If it's not, it could be because the alarm system needs recalibrating or rewiring after removing the aftermarket system. I'd start by checking the wiring and programming, and maybe try resetting the system if needed.

Normally, with the factory setup, the vehicle should still start as long as you’re using the right key, even if you unlock it manually.
