Some suggestions please
So I recently bought my first truck, and am wanting to take care of it myself the best I can, which I have been doing well.
But here recently (As it has started getting cold in the mornings) my truck (Which is a 96' Chevy K 1500 V6 with 147k on it) has started knocking after starting it up, it quits before I get out of my driveway but still, knocking always has me worried. The knocking speed accelerates when gas is applied as well. A friend said it could be a lifter out of alignment but if this is the case is this something to worry about? And how much would it be to get it re-aligned? |
What weight oil are you using?
|
10W-30
It was recommended by a friend who works and restores cars. He said it would help because lower weight oil pressure caused the oil pressure gauge to fluctuate pretty noticeably depending on the action being performed by the truck. |
Welcome to the forum.
Could be one or more lifters leaking down. If you post your question in the truck section of the forum, you'll get more views. |
