Making a 87 chevy van diesel

I have a 1987 chevy van ("chevy van 10"), and it has a 305 in it right now. I want to put a diesel engine in it. Trouble is I have no idea what kind to begin looking for. I need to know what might bolt up to the same automatic transmission a 305 does. I was looking for something like an inline four cylinder diesel.

It would litterally be a pain in the as* to convert this vehicle to a diesel. You'd have to change the fuel pump, tank, and what ever electronics are in the van. To save yourself, go out and buy a diesel van.

Depends on how you look at it..... I see it as a fun weekend project. (long weekend though).

Thats just the start... Need to change the brake booster too, and the radiator. I've been looking at a 6.2L diesel. It's supposed to bolt up to the 700R4 trans that my van has in it. Dunno how the torque converter and engine mounts would work out though.
