Truck chokes out when I hit the gas
77 Chevy Scottsdale
350 small block 5.7 liter
two door, no a.c., automatic
Hello,
My distributor cap fouled out and the truckstopped running. Truck sat about 5-6 months and I replaced the cap and it started right up again. It idles good and drives fine until I go about 30-35 mph, then it starts to sputter and choke out. It also will do it if i rev the gas when idling. I checked all the spark plugs, re-checked distributor cap, fuel filter 1yr old and checked, put new gas in and checked for any vacuum leaks.
Right before it died on me I got into a pickle moving my trailer with it and did a lot of back and forward moving with it for like a good hour or so. Not sure if that could have damaged something but the cap was starting to take a dump then I'm guessing because the truck died a couple times. Then the next day it died for good.
So this is where I am at. Any ideas that anybody has that I could try would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
