1996 Caprice 5.7L LT1 with towing package
Hi Folks,
1996 Chevy Caprice - Green/Blue Exterior, Beige Interior.
VIN: 1G1BL52P9TR126809
77,000 original miles. Solid Transmission, no issues.
I am in Cherry Hill, New Jersey (15 minutes from Philadelphia PA)
I am selling a clean 1996 Chevy Caprice with 5.7L V8 engine(LT1). This vehicle has been absolutely taken care of from top to bottom. I've decided to part ways because I will be moving overseas for a job and won't be needing this car as I have too many. I would like it to go to someone who will take care of it and knows 9C1 or Caprices. See below for a list of repairs I have done since I purchased it.
History: Here is a little history of the vehicle. This was owned by an older gentleman in Missouri from 1996 to 2014. His wife sold it to me a year after he passed away and she's too old to drive (I bought it June 2014). This is a LT1 with towing package. Originally 2.92 gear but I swapped it with 3.73 for better pick up. This car never saw race track and maybe, have been taken up to full throttle no more than 10 times in the last 2 years I've owned. The modification and repair done merely because I am a perfectionist and love to ensure every part of every car is flawless. I bought this car with 69k miles and have driven it to 77k in the last 2 years. This is my summer commuter and never driven in the rain.
I purchased this car because back in 1999, I had owned a separate 96 LT1, it was my very first car and felt in love with it. When this car was listed, I bought it for $6500 in a heartbeat. I've spent about $3500~4000 in repair and maintain this car. I'd like to let her go to someone who will respect it and take care of it.
List of repair and mods I made
1. New and bigger radiator 9/2014 (old one was 19 years old and decided to swap it out.)
2. New spark plugs, wires, fuel filter. (did it because I want it to have a tune up)
3. Water pump changed in 2015 (nothing wrong with original one, I replaced it just because.)
4. New super10 exhaust, solid 3" pipes with cat cat convertor intact (old one was 19 years old and rusted and super 10 sounds nice on this car.)
5. State Inspection passed in 2014 and just last week.
6. 3.73 rear gear ratio(original 2.93) this is an upgrade I've done.
7. New starter done in 5/2017 (old one gave out)
8. Battery changes in 11/2016
9. New set of tires in 9/2016
10. HID headlights 11/2016
11. K&N cold air intake 9/2014 this was done because original came missing something. It runs great.
12. Came with original siren sounds (he was an old detective)
13. Serpentine belt changed in 4/2014
14. New Head gasket 4/2016 old one was leaking oil a bit but I decided to have it changed.
15. AC new relay 5/2016 (runs super cold now.)
16. New heater coil, old one was 19 years old and clogged.
17. New brakes front and rear.
18. AC Compressor 4/2017
