'01 S-10 4.3L No Longer Starts

My friend had used my 2001 S-10 yesterday..was working fine until he stopped the vehicle left it on and needed to take something out of the back. When he returned the vehicle had died. Wouldn't start up until he added some new gas. Then died again. He added fuel injector same thing. Check engine light had been on for quite some time before this. He had truck towed to my house after gentlemen checked fuses, battery and said it very well could be fuel pump. I have been reading a lot of the posts on here about similar problems. I had a Diagnostic Code Reader plugged in and all of a sudden it says 0 codes. Truck turns over and I get lights and radio but wont start. When we turn to off position we hear a clicking noise under hood for a few seconds...is that normal?? I listened for a humming noise near gas tank with key in on position but no noise. I was going to next check the fuel pressure. Anyone have any ideas after that??? Thanks in advance!!

I think you're spot on with the fuel pump. With help, have someone crank it over with another person "feeling" the fuel pump relay. That clicking could be the relay, if the pump is bad, it won't start or throw a code.

Checked the fuel pressure registered 0 psi with key in ON position and when tried starting it. Guess I will look into changing the Filter and Pump.
