the worn one is like this one

the new one is like this
hello,
i little while ago i had a bad axle bearing on the right side, I removed the bad bearing and seal and removed the axle.
The axle is worn , there is a deep groove/notch where the bearing was settled.
so I ordered a repair bearing , a normal bearing with seperate seal. And i ordered a new axle shaft.
but now i noticed that on the new axle isn't a abs tone ring like the worned axle and I searched almost everywhere but i don't find the tone ring i need.
I bought one that is for a automatic trans but that ring is just to little .

now i don't know what to do.
would i install back the worn axle and install the repare bearing or should i install the new axle without the abs reluctor ring?
I now that the abs system will not work if I install the new one without the abs ring.
but the abs system isn't working for 2 years ( yellow dashlight burns al the time (maybe due the oil from the bad bearing )

thx

returning the parts is too expensive because I am from Belgium

From what I see, it is pressed on around the outside bevel part of the shaft at the brake hub. From what I can see, you can't get a puller behind it, might try prying it off evenly with a flat screwdriver, underneath the base of the recluctore prying against the axle. Just a suggestion.

If the ring is pressed on, and not part of the shaft, I'd try to pry it off. If this is the case, and you get the ring off, it is going to be an interference fit. Heat the ring up, just enough to expand it, and slip it on the new axle.

i'll give it a try in the morning

Along with heating it up to install the ring, heat it up to expand and remove it

is this possible with an electric heatgun ?

I don't know. If the ring metal is thin enough, probably. Where did you get the shaft from, and did you specify it had ABS?

from rockauto and i ordered the axle and i bought also an abs ring for a s10 blazer with automatic gears but that ring is too small
