Curing check engine light after removing the catalytic converter
 

Hey there,

I have a cat that has gone out on my 2002 chevy s-10. It's rattling pretty loud so I'm pretty sure cleaning it out won't do anything. I can't afford to get a new cat so can anyone tell me a way to cure the check engine light that will occur when I remove the cat completely?
