Just Bought This 98 S-10

Girlfriend's 2004 Mazda Mx6 with 229,000 miles kicked the bucket. Decided she wanted an S-10 so we traded it in for this 98 S-10 that has 224,000 miles. So far it's what I would expect from a truck with high mileage.

Nothing noticeably wrong with except common problems like gas gauge acting on its own free will an slight wheel play. Wondering what are some important repairs to go ahead an jump on just to make sure she gets some miles out of it.

Looks like a nice clean truck. Good Luck with it. Unless you have maintenance records to show that these things have been done, I would change the oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and give it a good tune up.

So far put just over 100 miles on it. Doesn't squeak, tick, shift hard, or anything. It starts up so good an strong that it feels like its on before I even get the key turned all the way.

Only thing new I've noticed is it sometimes idles weird at a stop lights. Doesn't get close to dying but it just feels like something we need to get fixed. The oil pressure gauge fluctuates when it decides to idle lower at the lights.

I got carfax on it an its never had anything serious happen to it unless of course it wasn't reported. Only 2 owners.

It sat probably quite a few months before we got it. So probably just needs a tune up an stuff than huh?
