Need help with buying a 1993 S-10 blazer!

Hey everybody, I was looking for some insight about an 1993 s10 blazer. I’ve been looking for a blazer for a while, and I wanted that clean look of the square body. I don’t know much about this model.

I found one on marketplace for about $3000. I believe it has the 4.3L v6 engine, with about 215k miles on it. I don’t know of any of the major work that it has had. I also don’t know what I should expect from a vehicle of this age. I want it to become a daily, and be able to go on road trips. It is a 32 year old car so I’m assuming it’ll need some work. I’m also a college student and don’t want to blow a whole ton of money, if it’s going to break down all the time. But from the pictures and from the marketplace post it seems to be running pretty good. He even posted a video of it running and I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary(I’m also not a mechanic).

Really looking for some insight!

Thanks!

Welcome to Chevy. Does the seller have a detailed history availbale of vehicle service & repairs? Original tranny?? I have a 93 Suburban, 350k miles, only run it once a week now. It's reliable for me but I would not let my wife use it, because age & miles equals more breakdowns, even with good preventative maintenance. I can fix things, she can't! You say you are not a mechanic - if you have no car repair skills I think you are setting youirself up for some potentially huge future repair bills. Also much more of a challenge to find parts for a 30+ year old vehicle.
