No Spark from Distributor
Hello, I helped my brother in law with the removal, rebuild and reinstall of the motor in his 96 Blazer. We got everything hooked up but now there is no spark coming from the distributor. We have power going to the coil and out but nothing from the distributor to the plugs. The distributor, rotor and cap were all replaced. We are at our wits end trying to figure out what the problem is, even the chilton manual is of no help. Any ideas or if you may know what the problem is any help would be greatly appreciated.

check ignition fuse, check connections at dist., have ignition module tested, check for power thru coil wire to dist. also, make sure oil pressure sending unit is hooked up. ignition goes thru this as well, a built in safety feature.

If you've got power to and from the coil and the coil is firing but nothing is getting to the distributor then you've got something going on with the wire from the coil to the distributor. Otherwise it sounds like you've got something going on with the cam sensor wiring or the sensor itself(Which is inside the distributor).

I would check the Ignition module first. I just had a problem similar to yours. I first checked the coil with an ohm meter according to manual, it was bad and replaced, but still no spark. then replaced the ignition module and voila spark.

would recommend checking the pick up coil in distrubitor.

If you have a distributor remove the cap you might have burnt out your rotor button. If you have coil packs Im not to sure then.
