S10 reverse lights.....
I just bought a 1986 S10 that came in pieces....I am almost finished putting it all together when I noticed a slight problem. The reverse lights are always on. I checked the reverse switch or whatnot on the tranny and it doesnt seem like the problem. I cant figure out what it is. If it comes down to it, I may just remove the bulbs. Any suggestions? Thanks!

RE: S10 reverse lights.....
Its not just the reverse lights, its also the tail lights that stay on all the time. So the whole resr tail light assembly stays on.

RE: S10 reverse lights.....
sorry, didn't see your other posts sooner-been busy. the reverse switch on my '94, 4x4, 4 door, 5 spd. Jimmy grounded itself out and caused the same problem. try unpluging the switch, and if the lights go out, then that's probably your best bet.

You know what, the truck is an automatic. Its my fathers truck and i thought he said it was 5 speed, so it doesnt have that switch. Do you have any clue now? Sorry and thanks!!

The truck was in pieces ... whatever that means. There is obviously a wiring issue whereby there is constant 12 volts running to the rear lights. Since it was in pieces who knows where the problem is ... you going to have to start tracing the wiring. Good luck. |
