I dont think so. If any one of those sensors didnt return a signal the PCM would withhold spark control. AND there would also be a code for lack of signal of the problematic sensor in the PCM.

disconnect the battery for 10 mnutes and then reconnect and retry to start it. additionally, you may have to check the fuel level and the position of the strainer on the fuel pump.

I m not so sure, because the Reverse band is applied using the 1st Gear solenoid. The band is applied to the Manual Low Drum. If there is confusion in this solenoid signal, R wont apply(sometimes)....
