What is this rectangle plug used for ? I don't seem to have the wiring harness but go to 4.11 minutes and he shows the plug which seems to be mounted .

None of my vans (and I had like 10 of them) had this. It might be a factory trailering package harness. It also might be something added (although, most likely a leftover) by the conversion company, if they run a universal harness for various trims.

appears to be the body harness wiring connector.
what year, eng, model do you have. the wiring will be different depending on the build. Something will be there. My non tow equipped truck had everything for the 4 pin connector. i had to run wires for the electric brake hook up.

It is a 2016 15 passenger 3 door 3500 LT van. Ordered a hitch and plan on putting a volt meter on the terminals and seeing if it is a trailer plug, when it gets on the rack . Any and all information is appreciated.

It is 2wd, 6.0 engine, 6 speed auto..

if its not under the center of the bumper, try under the spare tire. Some may have a junction block cavity where other harness plug in.

Looked it yesterday and it is a 6 pin and tested for a left turn blinker and appears no power to it.. The wires are about 16 gauge and it does have a plug over it to protect it. Looks like this would work

The rectangular plug, above the one he is playing with at 4:11, is the Rear Backup Sensor Connector.
