Default xm radio

2014 chevrolet silverado 4WD. No reception for xm radio. The onstar feature works but is not activated. Does the onstar need to be active for xm radio to work?

OnStar does not need to be active for xm to work. Do you get any error message on the screen?

Screen reads no reception signal may be blocked...although there is nothing blocking antenna...wide open sky

I've disconnected battery and touched cables together with no results
