Default 2007 Tahoe Stabiltrak Problems

2007 Tahoe Stabiltrak flashing off, engine light flashing, error code reading cylinder 4 misfire. Changed spark plugs and fuel injector. I am seeing a lot of people are having similar problems, this is not very encouraging. Any new info on the problem would be appreciated as I cannot afford to bring it in to the dealership.

try swaping a coil with a good cylinder. if the misfire doesn't follow the coil and stays on number 4. do a compression check. if the compression is zero and you have active fuel management 5.3 engine...cylinder 4 is an afm cylinder....remove the valve cover and see if the rocker arm is moving...if not...the lifter may have collapsed.

Good advice above. Also, you might change your oil. Try using a Dexos approved 5-30 engine oil. You have nothing to lose. If it’s a collapsed lifter you are looking at a $2000 tear down to replace the lifters.

I have the same issue but with #6. Changed coi, wire and plug. Runs good for about 5 miles then misfire code comes back and runs rough again. Remove the coil wire and put it back and it's good again.2008 Suburban will 97k 5.3. 4wd
