I wanted to replace my Gas Filter on my 2000 Chevy Silverado. The steel tubes are a little rusted and the nuts do not want to come off the existing filter. I don't want to put to much force on the line and bend or break them. What is the best way to get the rusted fitting out of the gas filter? Does anyone know the correct size wrench to fit it as well.

Don't know the size. I recommend using a line wrench.

my guess is 16mm, 18mm, 21mm?

line wrench, soak with gm pentrating fluid for 20min, spray again and try to crack it loose.

Thanks gents - I was not familiar with a line wrench - less chance of rounding off the nut??

Yes, It is like "box end" wrench that is open so to fit it around the line
