Default what should the normal engine temperature be on a 2008 suburban?

My temperature gage goes up to 210 degrees within 20 minutes of starting my suburban.

My 2013 Silverado does the same thing. This is normal.

Outside temps will also affect that, but yeah it should reach temp fairly quickly...

The needle should reach 210 and stay there like it's stapled. Only time it deviates is when I'm REALLY beating on it - fourwheeling in Moab when it's 117°, pulling an 8600-lb trailer over the Continental Divide, etc.
