CF Monarch
I have owned vehicles that need JUST the right place to fill at. Thankfully I dont have those vehicles anymore. I assume you tried to fill it slowly?

That is a very common problem. When your pumping fuel the air in the tank has to go somewhere. There is a vacuum/ breathing issue. It's not fixable your just going to have to find the sweet spot. I found that if you don't put the nozzle all the way in the filler neck it works better, you have to stand there and hold it but it goes faster.

is the engine light on? if yes, check for codes and post them here.
the air does have to go somewhere....as you fill...it vents out the tank to the evap canister...then out a vent valve to a fresh air filter...any blockages will inhibit filling. if there a problem with the evap system, a trouble code will give you a starting point for diagnostics.
