Default brake lights not working

I have a 2008 Silverado and the rear brake lights are not working. I have checked all fuses and bulbs and they are OK. The cruse control works can the brake switch be bad?

Yes, the brake switch could be bad and after the fuses the switch should be checked next.

As it turned out it was a junction connection at the rear of the truck
