Default 2008 Suburban Front Passenger Door Actuator Issue

Hello. I removed the front passenger door panel and also removed the door actuator. I thought this was going to be an easy fix but it's not what I expected. I figured the original door actuator failed. So I replaced the old actuator with a new one. When I installed/tested the new actuator out it didn't work. So apparently I have an electrical issue? Or something wrong with the relay? Or are both actuators bad?

Here's what I do know...

1. The key fob works to lock/unlock every door except the front passenger.
2. The control panel (on the front passenger) to unlock/lock doors WORKS for all doors except the front passenger
3. The control panel (on the front passenger) to power the window... WORKS.
4. The vehicle isn't having any other "power" or "electronic" issue other than the front passenger actuator issue.

So my questions are....

1. Is it the 6-Pin connector that connects to the actuator? Has that failed?
2. What other checks can I do?
3. Any other tests?

I'm about average when it comes to wiring things.... but I can follow a step by step procedure 100%.

If anyone has any ideas... please let me know. Thanks for your time.

I noticed that the dome lights do not activate when opening the Front Passenger Door. Everything is dark in the vehicle.

When you open any of the 3 other doors... the dome lights turn on. I don't know if this is a separate issue? Or is this another reason why the door lock actuator doesn't work?

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you're not getting 12 volts to that door.

if you had a scan tool you could operate each switch and see if the module was getting the signal...without the scan tool...inspect broken wires in the door...check the a-pillar...pull the rubber loom back

90% of what you said went over my head. lol Mark me down as "below avg in wiring" then. lol

I truly appreciate your advice...

1. Should I purchase a scan tool? Any scan tool that you recommend?
2. When inspecting broken wires do I just try and follow those 5 wires that lead to the Door Actuator Plug? It seems like those 5 wires follow to the middle of door and then meet a cluster of 13-14 wires all bonded by manufacturer's/electrical tape. Should I cut the tape off?

I have a multimeter... can that be useful in someway?

I wish I knew what color of wire to focus on. It has to be one of the 5 in this photo...

I'm debating if I should hire a professional to do this? There's a local mechanic I trust. Wish this wasn't an electrical issue. Sucks when you get crossed up and at a roadblock.

The most likely place for the wires to break if that is the cause of the problem, is between the A-pillar and the door itself because that's where all the flexing takes place.

To add to the list of "extra" issues going on... lol

1. Passenger mirror won't fold in or out... but the driver side works.
2. Passenger side turn signal arrow won't light up on mirror... but the driver side works. lol

LOL This is unbelievable. I didn't even touch anything! Everything was working before I took everything apart. lol

Time to open a 6 pack.
