Default 08 stuck in 4 cylinder mode

Hi my truck started mis firing about 6 months ago. Took it to a Chevy mechanic, he replaced 1 4 6 7 lifters. Truck ran great for about 5000 kms now it seems to be stuck in 4 cylinder mode. Any ideas why that would be? My truck has sat I'm my drive way for the last 4 months just because I haven't wanted to spend another 2500 at a mechanic. Truck has 300000 kms on it. Doesn't burn or leak oil yet.

It's hard for me to believe this missive. I cant imagine anyone NOT replacing all the lifters, in a high-mileage vehicle. Goes against everything we know that we have to do. By the term "Chevy mechanic" are you speaking about some man or non-GM business? Or are you speaking of a GM dealership? I find it very hard to believe that a genuine GM/Chevrolet technician or Chevrolet Dealer shop would make a mistake like that. No way I believe that.
