Default Build Sheet decipher for towing & New Member

Hello all! I'm new to the forum, just picked up a 2010 Avalanche that appears to be very well taken care of. In fact it's so clean I feel guilty about strapping 3 car seats into the back.. My wife drives a Traverse (I replaced rear upper control arms, rear wheel bearings/hubs, front sway bar bushings and forward control arm bushings last weekend, drives so quiet now!).

Anyways.. The 2010 Avalanche brochure states a trailer weight rating of 7,800 pounds, and doesn't list any options that would affect this (gear ratio, heavy duty cooling package, etc...) However after a quick google search, it appears the 3.08 axle ratio limits the trailering weight to 5,100. My questions are...
1. I see the Z82 option code listed on my build sheet, is that just the standard hitch & electrical?
2. Are there additional towing option codes for a 2010 Avalanche?
3. What is my max trailer weight?

Be seeing you around! I'll get a picture or 2 up in the next week or so.

Yeah, the 3.08 ratio isntgood for pulling traiers. The 3.42 or 3.73 ratio's would be MUCH better for towing,

Try emailing socialmedia@gm.com . They sent me a build sheet within a few hours, super helpful! Good luck fleetwood.

BainMan, thanks for the idea, I emailed them and requested a build sheet.
They replied that they no longer provided that service, but would graciously sell me a copy of the build sheet for $50.
"As of November 2021, we are no longer able to provide this information. However, you can purchase a copy of the vehicle invoice (documentation of the vehicle cost broken out by model and factory options) by visiting www.gmmediaarchive.com."
I'm still trying to find a cheaper alternative.
Thanks for the help!!

Bummer! Maybe try walking into a GM dealership with a box of donuts and schmooze the front desk.

Otherwise you can look in the glove box for the list of RPO codes on a sticker. Then cross reference the RPO codes to a list online. I suspect many of your options will overlap with the Build Sheet (with RPO codes) I provided above for my 2010 LTZ. Then you'd only have to search for RPO codes that are different than the ones I have.

Good luck.

P.S. there is another forum dedicated just to Avalanche's that seems to be more active. You may have better luck there searching for the RPO codes. Out of respect for this forum I'm not going to link it here, but if you search for Chevy Avalanche Forum and find a Fan Club you'd be at the right place.
