Default Cargo Light/Third Barke Light

I need to replace the Cargo Light/Third Brakelight Lens and light assembly for 1996 Chevrolet C1500 Extended Cab Pickup. Anyone ever replace their Cargo Light and if so where did you find either original or an after market light that fits?

Junk yard might work. I am not sure the original is available anymore. Manufacturers don't keep old stock long. They do make some LED ones sold on eBay however.

Thanks Oilcanhenry. Yea the only site that sells the stock light assembly is LEC Trucks for $185.00. May try one of the aftermarket ones on EBAY.

I purchased a cheap Ebay special because my cargo lights were inop.
Works fine and is actually brighter. LED unit.
This was on my '98 C2500:
Had to de-pin the yellow wire. Because of the auto interior lights I have, it made the 3rd brake light come on in "dim" mode.
After de-pining that wire, works great!!!
It's also a "smoked" lens that looks so stupid... but is it stupid if it works

When the original is not available any more or too expensive, I buy a small strip of LED lights the same length usually on Ebay for less than $10 and replace the lights in the original with this. Works every time and no one can tell.
