Post Whirling sound that increases and decreases w/speed

I am the original owner of a 2014 Chevy Malibu LT 2.5L eng. with under 49,000 miles. Driving w/o the radio I noticed a whirling sound that increased and decreased w/speed, could there be a problem with the transmisssion or the CV axle? The car is still under warranty; just wanted some idea before taking it to the dealer.

Where does it sound like the sound is coming from? Right rear, right front, rear left, rear right, etc?

Chevy has been having lots of issues with defective hubs and rear wheel bearings, mostly the Cruze but the Malibu too. Might be whats making that noise.
