**NEWBIE HERE** Thinking about changing wheels.

Good afternoon everyone!
My name is Nick, I'm new to this forum as well as to my recent purchase of my 2014 Silverado W/T (picture below) Attachment 10877 I love this truck, I test drove the LT & LTZ, which are phenomenal trucks but to many "bells & Whistles" for me. More of a simple kinda guy. Power windows, Power locks, 4x4, tons of storage compartments, V6 EcoTec3(R.P.O LV3) 3.42 rear. And I'm happy as pig in Sh*t :) So I know how bad these steel wheels have a tendency of rusting out over time, and I really do like the Chevy 5353 wheels from the previous Silverado's(links below) http://www.greenpointauto.com/wp-con...-003-Small.jpg http://img0104.popscreencdn.com/1614...-tires-new.jpg My question is can these wheels fit MY Silverado? Can't answer you question of whether or not they fit but make sure you put your pressure sensors in your new wheels.
When my current tires wear out I'm going to get a set of factory take-off from a nicer Chevrolet truck. |
Nothing wrong with a 'work truck' -- sometimes simple is better. The 2014 Silverado is a beautiful truck, but it is a shame that GM chose to build most of them in Mexico. They should call it the Silverodriguez, huh? LOL!
BTW, what kind of mileage do you get with that 4.3L V6? Car & Driver did a test on one and it only averaged like 16 mpg or so. Heck, my 2004 Silverado 1500 4x2 with a 5.3L V8 gets 14 to 16 local and 18 on the highway.....with 17" rims and a 3.73:1 rear axle ratio. Good luck with your new ride! P.S. Those "older" style wheels would look great on your truck.....provided they'll fit and clear the brake calipers, etc. |

Yea I forgot about tire pressure sensors! |
Good for you that your truck was "US built" -- as so many of them aren't. Ironically, GM doesn't charge less for the ones that are hecho en Mexico - as you know it costs them a lot less to assemble them there. I guess 18.5 is not too shabby. I have to drive on the highway like a little old lady to get that kind of figure with my Silverado. |
the first digit of your vin tells you what country it was built
1, 4 or 5 - USA 2 - Canada 3 - Mexico Once I owned 3 Fords and all 3 were built in Canada - glad Pugly came from the USA. :) |

im on my phone so i cant comment on if they fit but id imagine you can get them to fit. Find your lug pattern, and find some new rubber that fits thos rimes...worst comes to worst you need to level the truck which is so easy....a ford owner could do it!

Regarding your original question, those wheels, as long as they're 6 lug, should bolt right on. To my understanding, Chevy didn't change their lug pattern from the 2013 to the 2014. NOW, if you really want your truck to look good, I would suggest installing a leveling kit, like BigRed992 said, some higher quality rims, like the 18x10 Fuel Mavericks, and a nice, oversized A/T tire. I prefer Nitto Terra Grappler A/T tires, but many other people enjoy the look of the Toyo Open Country A/T's. Your truck would look fantastic with those, as people call them, mods! |

I was actually looking at these Firestone A/T tires, haven't heard of a leveling kit ill look into it, i've also been deciding (now) between the 2010 GMC 2500 wheels. I just want something other than the steel ones only because they look like crap when they rust |
