126K miles 07 ext cab Silverado ltz question

Hello everyone,

This is my 1st post and i think i'm in the right fourm. Here is the situation. I found a 07 ext cab Silverado ltz with 126K miles for $16,000. I currently have a F150 and was looking to get a chevy. My concern with this silverado is if there is anything wrong with it. I haven't test drove it or looked at it but the owner is telling me there is nothing wrong with it and has been doing the oil changes every 5K miles since he has owned the truck. SO my question to all of you is what will i have to do if i decide to buy it with the high mileage it has? Am i looking at a tune up and if so, about when mileage wise?, complete fluid change?, spark plugs? etc etc. Is it pricey for everything to get done? Also, what are the mostly likely problems that i might encounter with this truck and putting more miles on it. I've never owned a Silverado before so i'm in the dark here. Any information will be great. Thank you all.
Joe

well joe, all I gotta say is I bought my '88 K1500 regular cab with 120K miles on it for $600 last year.... only thing ive had to do to it is normal maintenance. I've done some un needed modifications to it, but I haven't had any problems with what I bought for $600

Take it out for a spin, make sure very thing seems tight and doesn't drift drivin down the road. Buy it for the right price and change spark plugs/wires, air filter, and change rear end fluid. Ask him if he ever had the tranny serviced. They're hit and miss if you wait a lot of miles to do a flush and fluid change

Is this a gas or diesel? Gas should have had a tune up at 100,000 miles. AC Delco iridium plugs from auto parts store and AC Delco wires found online are going to run you $100 give or take. Belts are gonna run another $50-$60. Fluids and filters depend on what you prefer. Have him do it for you or get him to knock off at least $300 so you can do it yourself. I'm not sure of body style on this truck but if it's nbs (2007 classic) then there will be no fuel filter to change as it is part of the fuel pump assembly.
