Default 1994 k1500 4L60e problem

i've owned this truck almost since '97 and haven't had any major problems at all. last weekend I changed the trans fluid since it had just over 16000 miles on the fluid in it. the fluid I was changing wasn't burnt but I like to keep up on the maintenance. now after the truck gets up to operating temp, the trans surges or jerks under load. could I have damaged the filter putting it in causing it to stare for fluid? the fluid level is right at the full level hot. it didn't do this before I changed fluid. any suggestions?

16,000 or 160,000?

If it is 160,000 you are extremely lucky you got that many miles. Usually they are done around 100,000. I had to replace the trans in my 2000 Tahoe limited (old body 5.7) at 89,000.

Anything is possible but it would be pretty hard to damage unless you were completely careless with it. Also if the filter was damaged it should have the problem cold also.

no typo on that one. i have changed the fluid every 15k to 18k. that's what my owners manual called for. I'm more concerned with that bs seal they put on the intake tube.

okay after rereading everything and realizing you did say 16k, i have seen this before it was on a ford though but same problem, the tranny filter just fell off on that one, changed the oil put a new filter on it, that was about 5 yrs ago and about 75k ago and there has never been a tranny problem with it since, i drove it the other day and shifts fine, looked at the odometer and it said 240k, the morral of the story is that my parents caught it in time and had it fixed and they are the only ones i know who can get that kind of original mileage out of a ford
