1996 c2500 5.7 350: Loss of power during heavy rain
Good afternoon, all! I have a question for those mechanically inclined.
Yesterday I was driving out in very heavy rain (it was raining sideways and all!) and I experienced a sudden loss of power. Was going through a residential area with stop lights and stop signs and I was not able to accelerate over 35 mph. The engine, which is normally loud and powerful, sounded low and bogged down. Then, just as it came it went away. Lasted for about 5 minutes while I drove very slowly towards a gas station.
Internet research informs that it could be electrical, plugs, plug wires, or the distro.
I bought the truck 6 months ago so I cannot verify the age of the plugs an wires, but the wires looked brand new (or just really cleaned) when I inspected it prior to purchase.
Any advise or things I should check?

So, nevermind. I figured out my problem. There is a crack in my distributor housing. It appears that whomever owned the truck previously tightened one of the screws to the point where it cracked the bottom of the housing.
