Default 1998 chevy true dual problem?

Hi I am new here and I got a question for you all.
I have a 1998 Chevy k1500 and my transmition went out a week ago. So I brought it to a mechanic and he told me the reason why the transmition went out was because I had true duals on it and it wasn’t getting enough back pressure which threw the timing off. He also said because of the true duals it was only running on 4 cylinders instead of all 8. I have talked to other mechanics and they have told me that he is filling me full of bs so i would like to here what you guys half to say.

The only way your dual exhaust will impact the transmission is if the pipes run to o close to it, increasing the amount of heat it is exposed to...
