tried something new today. if I bypass the low pressure switch and the high pressure switch the A/C will come on and off with the a/c button on the dash. Could they both be bad at the same time or could the freon level be out of whack that bad. The gauge I have wouldn't shock me if it was wrong. It will not work with the high pressure connected and the low pressure bypassed or vice versa the only way is with them both bypassed.

I have a 1998 chevy Silverado ext. cab truck. I can't get it to take in more than one can of Freon. The unit will not get cold. I have flushed out the evaporator core with recommended solvent, I replaced the Drier, I even replaced the condenser. Still won't take the Freon. This is after vacuuming the entire system. what could the problem be?
Oh yeah, by the way the compressor clutch is engaged during my efforts.
