2001 silverado wont start first crank

i know on the tbi trucks the OSP would override the fuel pump relay after oil psi reached 3psi. the OPS is only meant to be a backup for when the relay would fail. i didnt know the 96+ still used this method and not sure they did but sure does sound like it. can anyone confirm?

Shot in the dark since this is an old post but this is what I am trying to do and figure the best way, I was thinking to splice in a check valve with ****** ends into the nylon tubing coming from the tank.
However did u just use fuel hose with the valve and hose clamped the valve and then at the pump and where it connects to the hard line.
